GATE 2010 :- Engineering As a Career

Engineering as a career option is finalized at a stage when the kids are not mature enough to decide. Usually, their career choice is based on the preference of their parents, and obviously those giving the advice are not engineers themselves, nor do they have the entire experience of engineering as a profession. It is quite obvious that while opting for a profession, children themselves are not aware of what engineering as a career is all about.

In the field of engineering, vision and skills know no boundaries. Students have to accept challenges as opportunities to prove themselves. For instance, being an aerospace engineer, you might get a chance of working on cryogenic technology which is highly required for the country’s advancement in the space research field or being a civil engineer, you may get an opportunity to make earthquake resistant houses. Likewise, being an electrical engineer, you might have an opportunity to develop superconductors and so on.

There are students who appear for GATE, so as to open avenues for themselves, for getting admission in M.Tech. From the design of fighter planes to boring holes in earth in search of petrochemicals to make way to Mars, Engineers definitely play an important role in success of human story. Working as an engineer requires intelligence and creativity which in turn requires the students to utilize their mental faculties as compared to professions where practice helps in performing the job. Engineering is about making things work, yes, it may seem to be challenging, but then it’s the engineers who make it possible in an efficient and effective way.

GATE-2010 :- Way to Electronic and Tele-Comm. Engg
